Padma Shri recipient and Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik marked the eve of New Year’s Day by crafting a 25-ft-high sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath’s ‘Bada Singhara Besha’ at Puri beach. In this vibrant creation, Pattnaik utilized various flowers such as marigolds and roses to add color and appeal. The floral elements were intricately employed to depict specific features of the Lord’s Singhara Besha, including ‘Nakachana,’ ‘Hridaya Padak,’ ‘Kara Pallab,’ and more. Additionally, the artist inscribed ‘Jay Jagannath’ on the sculpture. The impressive sand art drew large crowds as people flocked to the pilgrim city to usher in the New Year.
