Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurates R&D Innovation Fair "IInvenTiv-2024 at IIT Hyderabad

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the “IInvenTiv-2024” Research and Development Innovation Fair at IIT Hyderabad, showcasing 120 innovations from 53 higher education institutions, including IITs, NITs, and IISERs. The event serves as a bridge between academia and industry, fostering economic growth, job creation, and a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Pradhan emphasized the transformative impact of these innovations from India’s premier institutes, stating that they play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s trajectory. He expressed confidence that IInvenTiv-2024 would catalyze transformative change, leading to a brighter and more prosperous future.

Various groundbreaking projects were featured at the fair, ranging from an instrumented smart shoe insole for gait quantification to an IoT-enabled uric acid sensor system. Other notable innovations include a non-invasive Ultrasound Bone Densitometer, a rapid test kit for malaria detection, an anti-hail gun for crop protection, and a low-cost landslide monitoring and early warning system. The showcased projects span diverse fields, from orthopaedic implants to a micro-gas turbine engine and 3D printed sustainable building structures. Participating institutions include IITs, NITs, IISERs, IIITs, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, and the top 50 NIRF-ranked engineering institutions in the country.

B.V.R Mohan Reddy, Chairman of BoG, IIT Hyderabad, highlighted the unprecedented alliance between academia and industry through IInvenTiv, unleashing a wave of innovation for a brighter future. The fair is organized around five themes: Affordable Healthcare, Agriculture and Food Processing, Sustainable Technologies (Climate change, E-mobility, Clean Energy), Defence and Space, and Industry 4.0. Major industry stakeholders like Cyient, Honeywell, Applied Materials, Bharat Forge Ltd, ICICI, Synergy, Sun Pharma, Suzuki Motors, Bosch, Schneider Electric, and NTPC were present at the inaugural event, showcasing the collaborative effort between academia and industry for the advancement of research and development in various sectors.
