Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Centre of Management Education at the Navratna PSU NALCO, situated in Odisha’s Angul, alongside the Central public sector unit’s CMD Sridhar Patra. This momentous occasion witnessed the launch of the Center of Management Education, a collaborative effort between IIM Mumbai and IIM Sambalpur, which aims to provide specialized education and skill development in the field of management.

In his address, Minister Pradhan underscored the significance of Angul’s industrial landscape and its prominence in coal production. He emphasized the ongoing development of rail and road infrastructure, aligning with the PM Gati Shakti program. The integration of the newly inaugurated Centre of Management Education into this framework aims to bolster logistics and supply chain activities through digitization. Minister Pradhan highlighted the importance of enhancing the specialized skills of employees within various industries to foster the development of the logistical sector effectively.

The newly established management center is poised to address the burgeoning skill demands of Odisha’s logistic sector. Offering courses ranging from three to six months in logistics and operations, as well as a one-year executive postgraduate course, it is set to be a pivotal hub for skill development. The course curriculum has been meticulously crafted in consultation with industries by IIMs, ensuring its alignment with the evolving needs of the sector. Moreover, the center remains committed to introducing new courses tailored to meet emerging requirements, thus staying attuned to the dynamic demands of the industry. This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering talent and fostering growth in the logistical sector of Odisha.
