Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Vidyanjali Scholarship Program

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has inaugurated the EdCIL Vidyanjali Scholarship Programme, underscoring its alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its pivotal role in enhancing education accessibility and opportunities, especially for economically disadvantaged students. Speaking at the launch event, Pradhan lauded the achievements of students from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), highlighting that nearly 14,000 individuals have secured admissions to prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) without the reliance on coaching centres.

A substantial number of these successful students hail from marginalized backgrounds, emphasizing the program’s impact on empowering underprivileged communities. Furthermore, Pradhan disclosed that 70 deserving students are set to receive scholarships totaling Rs 5 crore, signaling a significant investment in nurturing academic talent and fostering equal opportunities in education.
