PM Modi Selects Odisha Artist Suryasnata's Hand-Painted Kalash for Amrit Kalash Yatra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen a hand-painted kalash crafted by Odisha artist Dr. Suryasnata Mohanty for the Amrit Kalash Yatra event in New Delhi. This kalash was selected among thousands presented to the Prime Minister’s office and was used to offer soil in the Amrit Kalash, marking the culmination of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. Dr. Suryasnata Mohanty, a gold medalist in law from National Law School, Bengaluru, has been passionate about art from an early age and has held solo art exhibitions and participated in national and international shows. She works primarily with acrylics but also uses oil, watercolor, and charcoal. The ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign, initiated by PM Modi to honor the country’s martyred soldiers, organized the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra,’ where selected youth from 7,500 gram panchayats across India gathered in Delhi with urns of soil from different regions to create ‘Amrit Vatika.’This is a proud moment, as it highlights the recognition of an Odisha artist’s work on a national platform.
