Odisha para-athlete Suchitra Parida has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a gold medal in Javelin throw at the World Ability-Sport Games held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. Hailing from Puri’s Bhuan village, Suchitra excelled in the f-54 category, bringing pride to her home state. Her success is attributed to eight months of dedicated practice, supported by the Better Life Foundation in Bhubaneswar. Suchitra’s achievements extend beyond the international stage as she sets her sights on competing in the upcoming Khelo India Games scheduled in New Delhi from December 9-17.

Notably, a total of fifteen para-athletes from Odisha participated in the event, collectively earning one gold and one bronze medal. Suchitra Parida’s triumph not only showcases her individual prowess but also contributes to the growing recognition of para-athletics in the state.
