Odisha Athletics HPC’s Jyothi Yarraji clinches back-to-back golds at the national championships

Jyothi Yarraji, representing Odisha RF Athletics HPC, secured her second consecutive gold medal at the 26th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships. On the final day of the event, she triumphed in the women’s 200m race, clocking an impressive time of 23.42 seconds. This outstanding performance not only earned her the top spot on the podium but also qualified her for the upcoming Asian Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, scheduled from July 12 to 16. The 23-year-old sprinter from Andhra Pradesh had already showcased her exceptional skills the previous day by winning the women’s 100m hurdles in a Meet record time of 12.89 seconds.

Another athlete from Odisha RF Athletics HPC, Purnima Hembram, settled for a silver medal in the Heptathlon event, accumulating 5,128 points. The success continued for the trainees of Odisha RF Athletics HPC as Rosy Meena Paulraj and Baranica Elangovan, representing Tamil Nadu, claimed the gold and bronze medals, respectively, in the women’s Pole Vault event.
