Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town MEMU on Thursday. Vaishnaw announced that the Cuttack railway station will be developed with Rs 303 crore, and the Centre has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for the railways sector in Odisha for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The Railways plans to redevelop 57 railway stations in the state, he added. Vaishnaw also mentioned that the development of the 5G network is a priority in Odisha, and 12 districts have already been connected in the first phase. The inaugural run of the MEMU train started at 5:45 am from Bhadrak and arrived at Nayagarh Town at 11:55 am. On its return journey, the train will depart Nayagarh Town at 5:05 pm and arrive in Bhadrak at 10:45 pm.
