A national-level handicrafts exhibition showcasing the exclusive products of artisans from Odisha and other states was opened in Bhubaneswar yesterday. Organized by the Odisha State Cooperative Handicrafts Corporation Ltd, the exhibition, named “Utkalika,” was inaugurated by the Minister of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Rita Sahu at Ekamra Haat in Bhubaneswar. Over 50 artisans from West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, and 10 districts of Odisha are participating in the exhibition, displaying and selling their products. The exhibition provides a platform for artisans to exhibit their products’ richness and variety and market them. It features a range of handicraft items, including Pattachitra, Tassar painting, silver filigree, and Dhokra casting. The event is sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles and Director of Handicrafts, Odisha, under the Marketing Support Scheme.
