Adapa Mandap Darshan of Holy Trinity Begins Today in Puri

The ‘Adapa Mandap Darshan’ commenced today at the Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri, marking a significant moment in the annual sojourn of the Holy Trinity—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. Pilgrims and devotees gathered eagerly to catch a glimpse of the revered deities and seek their blessings amidst an atmosphere charged with devotion.

Adapa Mandap, also known as the yagna bedi or the stage of the idols’ creation, holds deep spiritual significance. It is believed that witnessing the Chaturdha Murti (Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra, and Sudarshan) here during their annual journey confers spiritual merits equivalent to those earned over countless lifetimes.

Visitors entered the Shree Gundicha Temple through Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate), passing through barricades under the watchful eye of 20 platoons of police to ensure a safe and orderly darshan experience. Nakachana Gate served as the exit point for the devotees.

During the next five days, devotees will also have the opportunity to partake in ‘Adapa Abadha’ and witness the ‘Banakalagi Niti’ evening rituals, where Lord Jagannath will be adorned in ‘Shreemukha Sringara’, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the occasion.

The commencement of Adapa Mandap Darshan not only reflects the deep-rooted religious fervor among devotees but also underscores the cultural and spiritual significance of the annual journey of Lord Jagannath and siblings in Puri.
