Siba Ranjan Biswal, a Manchester-based IT entrepreneur, was honoured with the Best Non-Resident Odia Award during the 9th Parampara Award Ceremony in New Delhi. The award recognises his outstanding contributions to the development of the Odia diaspora globally. Former Union Minister KJ Alphons, along with other distinguished personalities, presented Biswal with an ‘Uttariya’ and a memento. Currently serving as the Secretary General of the World Odisha Society, Biswal has dedicated the award to his parents and has 22 years of experience as an IT consultant. He founded Essar Systems, providing free Odia language learning globally, and is working on various initiatives, including an online marketplace for women entrepreneurs and a virtual Anand Bazar. Essar is also set to introduce an online healthcare program called “Our Hospital.”
