Dr. Patitapaban Mohanty has been appointed as the new director of the Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (NIRTAR) in Cuttack. The appointment was made by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Dr. Mohanty’s selection followed a recruitment process conducted in New Delhi from July 17 to 21, where 29 candidates, including former director Dr. Shakti Prasad Das, participated in the interview. With his extensive experience and international reputation as a physiotherapist, Dr. Mohanty has been serving as the in-charge director of NIRTAR since January 2022. He holds a PhD from Utkal University.
