The Odisha Mineral Bearing Areas Development Corporation (OMBADC) has proposed to transform 205 schools under the 5T initiative of the state government, with a budget of Rs 125.46 crore. The face-lifting of schools will include improved infrastructure and technology in education, benefiting over 24,600 students in Classes IX and X across four districts. Additionally, OMBADC will support the Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana in 78 ICDS projects with a budget of Rs 589.46 crore. The CEO of OMBADC, G Rajesh, presented the proposals at the Corporation’s Board of Directors meeting, where the financial status for 2022-23 was also discussed. The Board approved 54 projects amounting to Rs 17,318.05 crore, proposed by 18 different departments, with most under implementation. The projects focus on sectors such as Drinking Water, Education, Health, Livelihood, Environment Protection, Rural Connectivity and Water Conservation. Total funds of Rs 2,954.27 crore were released in FY 2022-23 till date.
