Seven talented boys from Odisha have been selected to join a 40-member Sub-Junior Core group for a national hockey coaching camp to be held at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela starting today. The young players, namely Pradeep Mandal, Deepak Pradhan, Suresh Sharma, Yojin Minz, Deonath Nanwar, Rohit Kullu, and Abhimanyu Gouda, will have the guidance of former Indian men’s hockey team captain Sardar Singh, who will serve as their coach and mentor during the camp. The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, which hosted the Men’s FIH World Cup alongside the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar earlier this year, has solidified its position as a prominent hub for the sport.
