For every newborn girl in the village, Saroj Devi has announced that 50 saplings will be planted in the house of the newborn. The initiative has garnered attention from the Nuapada Collector, who has provided necessary saplings to the sarpanch. During a meeting of ASHA workers, Saroj Devi emphasized the need to generate awareness against the termination of female fetuses and encourage the protection of girl children. She also advised against prenatal testing and has informed the chief secretary, district collector, district agriculture officer, and horticulture department of her decision.
