During the 9th PAN IIM World Management Conference (WMC) at IIM Sambalpur, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the ‘Rangavati Centre of Excellence in Cultural and Sustainable Management.’ The newly established center aims to serve as a hub for preserving the cultural heritage of Odisha, focusing on dances, soulful songs, nature worship, and the rich food culture of the region. Minister Pradhan emphasized the center’s role in research on the art, literature, culture, and history of western Odisha, with a particular emphasis on textiles. Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, highlighted the conference’s theme of 3Ds disruptions – digitalization, decarbonization, and democratization of business. He noted the global changes and disruptions occurring through these three factors.
Addressing India’s potential in digital disruptions, Professor Jaiswal referred to initiatives like UIDAI and UPI, stating that innovation, sustainability, and the 3Ds could help India regain its historical position in the global economy. The Rangavati Centre at IIM Sambalpur, inaugurated by Minister Pradhan, will include an open theatre to showcase the vibrant art and culture of the region.
