Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where he engaged with Indian students and explored avenues for higher education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and experiential learning. Pradhan highlighted the National Education Policy (NEP) and its potential for knowledge collaboration and mobility between Indian and Singaporean universities. He emphasized the importance of partnerships between Nanyang Technological University and Indian institutions, particularly in fields like AI, FinTech, Sustainability, and Climate Action.
Pradhan also met Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, to strengthen the India-Singapore Knowledge Partnership, focusing on skill development and education cooperation. Both ministers expressed the shared historical and cultural ties between India and Singapore and affirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral collaboration to address global demands and challenges. Additionally, Pradhan met Singapore’s Senior Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, to further discuss collaboration in education and skill development. Pradhan concluded his visit by visiting the Institute of Technical Education Singapore, where he praised their emphasis on holistic learning through industry internships, mobility, and industry-academic connections to equip students and adult learners with employability skills and promote lifelong learning.
