Sanat Kumar Mohanty has been appointed as the chairman in charge of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) by the Odisha government. His appointment became effective from August 3, 2023, after the retirement of the previous chairman, Satyajit Mohanty, whose tenure came to an end on August 2, 2023, as he reached the age of 62. Sanat Mohanty, who was already a member of the commission, has been allowed to continue as the chairman in charge until the appointment of a new chairman under Article 316 of the Constitution of India. The General Administration and Public Grievances Department issued a notification regarding this decision. Upon his retirement, Satyajit Mohanty shared his gratitude on Twitter, acknowledging his 38-year-long journey in public service, which included serving in ONGC, IRTS, and IPS.
