Odisha’s teenage weightlifter, Jyoshna Sabar, has once again brought honor to her state by being crowned the Best Lifter in the Youth category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2023. The championships, held at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, concluded recently. Jyoshna, who will celebrate her 18th birthday on July 20, had previously won the title of Best Lifter in the National championship held in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu earlier this year. The Indian contingent had an impressive performance overall, securing a total of 18 medals, including 8 gold, 8 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Jyoshna’s remarkable achievements in weightlifting continue to bring recognition and pride to the state of Odisha.
