Odisha's Berhampur University Signs MoU With Brazil’s FUSC For Collaborative Research

The Berhampur University in Odisha signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Vernacular Language and Literature (DLLV), Federal University of Santa Catarina (FUSC), Brazil for collaborative research in the common area of interest. The MoU was signed between Bapuji Mende, coordinator of the Linguistic Department, Berhampur University and Dr Gilvan Miiller de Oliveira of DLLV, FUSC, in presence of Geetanjali Dash and Sukant Kumar Baral, vice chancellor and chairman of post graduate council of Berhampur University and several other faculty members in the university.

Dr. Gilvan Miiller de Oliveira, a UNESCO chair on language policies for multilingualism (LPM) at FUSC, emphasized the importance of language in science during a talk. The MoU outlines a five-year collaboration, during which the two institutions will engage in various academic activities. These activities include collaborative research, joint research publications, mutual academic assistance, and the exchange of teachers and research scholars as needed. The scope of the MoU extends beyond the Department of Linguistics, benefiting students, research scholars, and teachers across multiple departments at Berhampur University. The agreement reflects a commitment to fostering academic collaboration and exchange, marking a significant step toward enriching the research and educational landscape for both institutions.
