The Housing and Urban Development Department’s ‘Garima’ program, focusing on the safety and welfare of Core Sanitation Workers (CSWs), received the award for Best Skilling Initiative in Sanitation. Additionally, Meghna Sahoo, president of Transgender Swikruti SHG, managing the Faecal Sludge Septage Plant (FSTP) in Bhubaneswar, won in the Women Changemakers in Sanitation category. These recognitions highlight Odisha’s consistent efforts in sanitation interventions, with the ISC-FICCI Sanitation Awards acknowledging contributions at the national level since 2019.
