Odisha tribal artists showcase their paintings at exhibition in Dubai

In an effort to promote and showcase the artistic talent of tribal communities, the Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi orchestrated a significant exhibition of tribal paintings in Dubai. The exhibition, a commendable initiative to uplift tribal artists, was inaugurated by Satish Kumar Shivan, the Consul General of India in Dubai. Presiding over the function was Sudarsan Pattnaik, a renowned sand artist and the president of the Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi. Fifteen talented tribal artists hailing from various districts of Odisha, including Rayagada, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh, participated in the exhibition. Their captivating artworks were on display for a global audience at the Hyatt Place Dubai Al Rigga. These paintings, intricately crafted and rich in cultural significance, shed light on the diverse tribal cultures of Odisha, with a special focus on the Sauras, Santhals, Kolhas, and Kandhas.

The exhibition provided a platform for these talented artists to showcase their unique perspectives and creative expressions, receiving appreciation from both local and international visitors. As the event came to a close on Thursday, several artists were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to the art world.
