Odisha Cyclists and Rowers Shine at 38th National Games in Uttarakhand

The Odisha contingent continued to make waves at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, showcasing exceptional talent in cycling and rowing events. A day after Swasti Singh’s record-breaking gold medal triumph in the Women’s Individual Pursuit and Khoirom Rejiya Devi’s bronze win, Odisha’s cyclists added another accolade to their tally on Wednesday.

The Odisha team delivered a remarkable performance in the Women’s Elite Team Pursuit event, securing a silver medal. Their efforts highlighted the state’s growing dominance in cycling, reinforcing Odisha’s reputation as a hub for emerging sports talent. Odisha’s rowers also put up an impressive show on Wednesday, clinching two silver medals in key events:

Men’s Double Scull Event – The duo of Parminder Singh and Satnam Singh showcased excellent coordination and endurance, securing the second position and adding a silver medal to Odisha’s tally. Women’s Coxless Four Event – The Odisha women’s rowing team put in a strong effort to finish second, securing another silver medal for the state. With these latest additions, Odisha has now accumulated a total of 20 medals at the 38th National Games, consisting of: 5 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals, 9 Bronze Medals. Odisha currently occupies the 14th position in the overall medal standings. At the top of the leaderboard, Karnataka leads with 54 medals (28 gold), followed closely by Services with 46 medals (26 gold).
