Two senior IAS officers from the Odisha cadre, Ashok Meena and Nikunja Bihari Dhal, have been empanelled in Secretary rank by the Central government. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the empanelment of 21 IAS officers, including Meena and Dhal, for holding posts at the Centre at secretary or secretary-equivalent level. Both Meena and Dhal belong to the 1993 batch of IAS officers from the Odisha cadre. Currently, Dhal serves as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Odisha, while Meena holds the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
