Koraput district emerged as the winner of the state-level quiz competition for judicial officers in Odisha. The quiz contest was organized in collaboration with the expert organization QShala to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Orissa High Court. Gajapati and Sundargarh secured the first and second runners-up positions respectively, in the competition. The quiz comprised three phases, including two Preliminary Rounds, six Zonal Rounds, and the Grand Finale. The final competition took place at the Odisha Judicial Academy in Cuttack, and it was held in the presence of S Muralidhar, Chief Justice, and the Judges of the High Court of Orissa.
The quiz questions covered various topics such as law, politics, and social studies, from a historical, cultural, musical, cinematic, artistic, and technological perspective. The prizes were distributed among the winning teams by Chief Justice Muralidhar, Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo, and Justice Chittaranjan Dash Prizes at a function held after the final round. Chief Justice Muralidhar expressed his delight at the various events organized to celebrate the 75th year of the High Court, with the law students and judicial officers’ quizzes being the most enjoyable. He expressed hope that such competitions would be conducted every year and proposed the idea of a national-level quiz competition for judicial officers.
