Indian Army honours Ex-Servicemen at Gopalpur, Odisha

The Army Air Defence College Commandant, Lt Gen UV Talur, expressed gratitude towards ex-servicemen for their contributions to the security and integrity of the nation at a rally of the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) held at Military Station Gopalpur near Berhampur on March 19. More than 1000 retired Army personnel, including war veterans, Veer Naris, specially-abled ex-servicemen, and their dependents from across the state attended the rally, which was organised after a gap of two years due to the COVID pandemic. Representatives of SBI, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, and SPARSH were present, and a medical camp was established to provide necessary medical cover. A book for ex-servicemen titled ‘Rishtey’ was unveiled during the ceremony, and a felicitation ceremony was organised to honour Veer Naris and ex-servicemen with various gifts.
