Suchitra not only secured the Gold medal in the Women’s Javelin Throw F55 category but also set a new national record with a throw of 17.23 meters in the f-55 category. This surpassed the previous record of 14.73 meters held by Sakshi Kasana from Uttar Pradesh. Sakshi Kasana claimed the Silver medal with a javelin throw of 15.33 meters, while Garima Joshi from Uttarakhand secured the Bronze with a throw of 15.20 meters in the same competition. Suchitra Parida had previously brought honor to Odisha by winning gold in javelin throw at the World Ability-Sport Games held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, earlier this month.
