India successfully conducted a training launch of the short-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-1’ from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha, according to the Defence Ministry. The Strategic Forces Command oversaw the launch, which validated all operational and technical parameters. Agni-1 is known for its high precision, and this training launch follows a successful one for the Medium-Range Ballistic Missile in June. India has previously tested various variants of the Agni series, including the nuclear-capable Agni-V with a strike range of 5,000 km. The Agni 1 to 4 missiles, already deployed, have ranges from 700 km to 3,500 km.
