The wait for the biggest Hockey Event ever is finally going to be over with the Birsha Munda International Hockey Stadium, Rourkela hosting its first match today. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be in Rourkela to witness the historic match between India and Spain. Two of the four matches scheduled for today – England Vs Wales and India Vs Spain are going to be played at the Birsha Munda Stadium. The other two matches – Argentina Vs South Africa and Australia Vs France are going to be played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Elaborate arrangements have been made in both Bhubaneswar and Rourkela for the smooth conduct of the matches. In Bhubaneswar, 80 platoons of police force will be deployed and 400 police officials will be in charge to manage the security and traffic arrangements. There will be three layered security cover for the players to commute to the Stadium from the Hotels and for their movement in the city. Keeping in view the large gathering of crown near the stadium, Rourkela Police has also made elaborate arrangements. In total, 56 platoons of police forces have been deployed for smooth conduct of the games.
